I am Sun Ryung Park, a political economist (PhD ‘25, University of British Columbia), specializing in the political economy of green industrial transformation, energy security, and state capacity.

My work specifically analyzes how South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan navigate the intersection of decarbonization, energy security, and technological competition. More broadly, my current book project disentangles why some pathways endure while others are redirected or weakened by subsequent shocks.
